What is Bit Bolt Lab?

Bit Bolt Lab is a browser nut-sort puzzle set in a magical toy workshop. Tap the top nut on one brass bolt, then move it to an empty bolt or a bolt with the same colour on top. Every bolt holds four nuts, so each choice changes the temporary space available for the next move. Twelve short levels, undo, hint, and a daily workshop sequence make the rule easy to learn and satisfying to master.

How to play Bit Bolt Lab

  1. Tap a top nut to select it, then tap a compatible bolt to move it.
  2. Use Undo to take back the last nut transfer.
  3. Use Hint to highlight one legal helpful move, or open a spare bolt when it is available.

Tips

  • Keep one empty bolt available whenever a mixed stack needs to be separated.
  • Finish a nearly sorted colour only when it will not trap the colour underneath it.
  • The nut glyphs stay distinct as well as colourful, so read both cues in the harder levels.

What to notice on your first run

Only the uppermost nut can move, and a coloured nut can land only on an empty bolt or its matching colour. That tiny rule creates the whole puzzle: an empty bolt is not merely spare space, it is the tool that lets you uncover the nut you actually need. The opening levels make this visible with short stacks before the workshop adds more colours.

Why this mechanic works in a short session

Each transfer has an immediate mechanical payoff, but the board remains small enough to understand after a quick pause. A wrong route can be undone instantly, a hint exposes a legal next action without solving the board, and every completed bolt becomes a clean visual milestone. The result is a quiet logic loop with crisp little wins rather than a long tutorial burden.
